The Cape Fear Coast's enticements are many and diverse, but our greatest treasures are the simplest: our beaches! In very few places along the East Coast will you find so many beaches – all beautiful, clean, and relatively uncrowded. The beaches are our main draw, which is why our state and local governments consider "beach health" a top priority.

From Topsail Island in Pender County to Wrightsville, Carolina, and Kure Beach in New Hanover County, and Southport and Oak Island in Brunswick County, our area’s beach communities are worlds unto themselves. They form a chain of unique barrier islands and towns interwoven with inlets and estuaries. We celebrate the heritage of our coastal lifestyle throughout the year with oyster, shrimp and other seafood festivals – even one dedicated to the "spot," a popular local finfish.
